Investing - Debt Funds

With the possible pause in Interest rates, for the brave hearts, investments in Gilt ( Government Treasury), could yield a high double digit return. The past month did generate the return , but it was with volatality and for a conservtive investor, short term funds could be the way out and still generate a double digit annualised return over the next 2 quarters.

Had shared my views on the same. Check the link  below :

Clouds all around.. what to do

One of the most common question you get to hear now ..  where to invest? Then we have Greece, Italy, European Union ... names being thrown all around.... Well, one thing is for sure... the 'experts'... 'media' ,etall , have brought to the forefront... the names of these countries more on the foreground, from the background.
Waht would you recommend....

Equity - stock specific  only.... with a 5 -7 year view.
Debt - go for short term papers... if the interest rate pause happens, a gross yield of 9% ( being conservative) cannot be ruled out.
Property - Yes... in Tier II and Tier III cities
And what else, Gold only as a 5-10% asset allocation
And most importantly invest in your self.. your skill set, a new hobby , a new business....

We are certainly living in interesting times.

With the volatality all around, fear is the one thing common.  With the onset of winter, is it the winter of despair..... While investing , you look at the return ... The Ist question you ask is - What is the expected return... How many times have you asked... what is the risk asociated with the investment.....

Well ... if the investments are linked to a goal and time horizon, the return is there for the taking.... Penned a few thoughts in Financial Express.... Check the link
